When you use Libre Books, we collect the following information:
- Google account name and email address (used for sign-in only)
- Business name and details you enter during setup
- Financial records you enter, including income, expenses, and invoices
- Business contact details and bank details you enter in Settings
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely for the following purposes:
- To provide the bookkeeping features of the app
- To generate invoices and financial reports on your behalf
- To calculate tax estimates based on your financial data
- To identify your account and keep your data separate from other users
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase Firestore, a cloud database service provided by Google LLC. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Your financial data is only accessible to you — no other user can access your records.
We do not sell, share, or disclose your personal data to any third parties, advertisers, or other organisations.
Third-Party Services
Libre Books uses the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase — for authentication and data storage. Google's privacy policy applies.
- Google Sign-In — for account authentication only. We do not access your Google contacts, emails, or any other Google data.
- Stripe — for payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies.
Data Retention & Deletion
Your data is retained for as long as you have an active account. If you wish to delete your data, you can do so in-app via Settings → Delete My Account & Data, or contact us at the email address below and we will delete your account and all associated data within 30 days.
Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Export your data (available via the Export feature in the app)
Children's Privacy
Libre Books is intended for use by adults operating a business. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 18.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the app and this document will be updated with a new date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
